What Do You Feel When You Dance?

When I dance, I feel.. like everything comes into focus.
Like every breath, every beat of the music, every moment and movement carries meaning and value.
Time slows down, even as the outside world rushes by.
On a very good day I feel beautiful, I feel the music, and the flow...
On a bad day, I still leave happier than I came in.
When I dance, I know that there is nothing else I'd rather do, no other place I want to be.

Shortest post ever prompted by a tweet from Tights and Tiaras.

  3. Henrik from Tights and Tiaras (sounds kinda royal, btw, but then you are used to being the prince, right?):

Oops, that came out longer already.. Anyway, I wish I could put the feeling not into words, but into dancing. I mean I get a kick out of my own dancing, but for someone else to be delighted as well.. That we have to leave to you pros. And we love you for it :)

  5. Hi! I just happened upon your blog, and it makes me really happy! I'm 20 and I only started taking ballet lessons last fall, so it's really inspiring to see someone who didn't start as a young child who has achieved so much! I'll definitely be following your blog!

  6. Thank you Allison and welcome to the club! :)

All you need to do is show up and soak it in like a sponge. The rest is up to you. If you love it you will want to work hard, and the hard work itself is all the fun!

I think of ballet as a journey, one you never want to end. Hence the "pointe til you drop"! :)

  7. Hello. I love your blog.
You have to update more! =)
I am a ballet dancer too, probably not near as good as you, but I love reading about ballet.
I have read some of your previous contributions, and i like them very much.
From today I'm a follower of this blog =)

Keep it up, and good luck with your dancing.

  8. Hello!

Thank you so much, I´m always happy when someone finds my blog and then likes it too!

But let´s not compare each other..I´m sure you are a beautiful dancer! Sometimes I think my writing is better than my dancing, but I love dancing more than writing - so there´s balance :)

Sorry about the slow updating of late, but I just went on twitter and was swept away :D

I am working on several new posts, one will be out hopefully today.

Good Luck with your dancing too!
