Gone are the fears of not being technically perfect. (Who could ever be? But we thought it might happen if we worked hard enough.) We bring our adult experience of many, many things to the dance studio and we know that the dancers we most enjoy watching are not the most Helennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620316363664400359.post-29898972083820724092013-02-12T16:52:53.680+02:002013-02-12T16:52:53.680+02:00I'm going to be "sitting" my Grade 4...I'm going to be "sitting" my Grade 4 exam this summer and practicing for it is killing me. So much technique to want to perfect, far too much concentration on technique to enjoy dancing and putting expression in the movements. My teacher pointed out that, whilst we feel inferior to the 11-year-olds who also do this exam, we can also earn more points with expression than they wouldKathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07784673453738546054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6620316363664400359.post-55741632793595806172013-02-07T17:34:38.319+02:002013-02-07T17:34:38.319+02:00Thank you, Aliénor! :)

It's hard to engage in the artistry of ballet when you're struggling with technique and steps. And it does often seem more important not to make any mistakes than to "colour" (y)our dancing.
